I’m just wondering, even though he said it a few times, if anyone truly is not coming prepared or if it’s just the easiest answer to give in a pinch after a loss.

On the whole, I agree with your analysis; but even Frolov has been playing harder of late. So I think it kind of leaves no likely candidates.

Without reading all of Barry’s original post, I wonder if another reading is possible: that Brown is really talking about the entire season, with maybe some history from last season carrying over. That is, it’s been a problem before, and even though it’s not so much a problem now, Brownie knows it’s a constant worry because even a little backsliding could undo what the Kings have accomplished so far. And because he’s the C, he has to worry about these sorts of things.
