From “”: Kyle Clifford “just keeps getting better”

On Jan. 2, the Colts opened 2010 on a winning note, picking up three points from Kyle Clifford in a 6-3 win over Peterborough.

“Kyle is a player who just strives and strives to get better. When we first drafted him he was mid-range player and since then he has worked so hard to bring up his entire game. He is one of our hardest workers in practice and he just keeps getting better and that is why the Los Angeles Kings just love him,” said Williamson.

Thanks for the bit on Clifford. Of all the prospects the Kings have at the Junior level, he is one of the most intriguing. If he turns out anything like Wayne Simmonds, then no one should EVER be able to question a Lombardi 2nd round pick EVER again….

DL’s second round picks: Clifford, Voynov, Moller, Simmonds. (Loktionov 5th rnd.).
Dave Taylor’s second round picks: Roussin, TJ Fast, Pushkarev, Anshakov, Bednar, CAMMALLERI, LILJA, Shefer, Papineau, Barney.

2/10 of Taylor’s 2nd round picks materialized into NHLers. Cammalleri is an especially good pick, obviously. But it would have been nice if DT hadn’t picked Jens Karlsson and Dave Steckel in the first round that year, instead of, say, Derek Roy.

In contrast, all of DL’s 2nd rounders will have or do have NHL careers.
