I don't know if it was a well-thought out move, but it certainly could have been. Why was Clowe standing up, leaning toward the front of the bench? It appears that it certainly could have been pre-determined.

Distinction aside in terms of whether it was spontaneous or intended, it was a horribly, disgusting move by Clowe. How is it possible to be that much of a jerk? How is it that what he wanted to do took precedent over the game?

This is no different than if a player came off the bench during an NBA game and stole the ball, or a player came off the sideline and made a tackle, although I have to think that a ref would have seen that occur in those instances. I am still in disbelief that it was not seen by any of the refs last night, especially the nearest one who was looking right at the play. How is it possible that none of the refs assumed the responsibility of watching the puck during play? It is inconceivable to me.

The stunt by Clowe is different than what occurs on the ice. This is beyond a questionable or violent hit. It is complete disregard for the rules of hockey and the rules of competition, and it must be treated so by the NHL. That, to me anyway, is very evident. Clowe intentionally acted to disrupt the game and sway the outcome in a manner that is illegal but even more egregious. Add to that a complete lack of understanding or remorse, and an attitude that he didn't do anything. I find him and the incident sickening on all levels.

I think a lengthy ban is in order. Why should the league tolerate or care about any player who shows that they do not care about the league, the games, or the spirit of competition. And I think the SJ organization should be held accountable as well. Why did CLowe continue to play? Why did McClellan not yank his butt out of the game and send him to the locker room? How did McClellan ignore what his player did? McClellan surely knew what his player did, and just as surely knew how truly wrong Clowe was. Winning became more important to McClellan than the game, and he should have to answer for that.

And his response when asked about it after the game? "I don't know what you're talking about."

That piece of s***.

The NHL should strip San Jose of the point or declare that if they're tied for the division lead they can't have it no matter what. And Clowe should be suspended. That is dangerous having foreign objects come onto the ice during play and the NHL cannot condone it. Clowe should be banished for the first round of the playoffs.

I think you couldnt be more right, the play was thought out. as it was obvious clowe leaned forward seconds before the stoll moved the puck upward...... the announcer said tonight that the sharks were the "big brother" of the western conference, and the kings are the the "little brother". I think its a shame to see the nhl officials tonight called bad penalties and worst of all, missed several very obvious opportunities for the kings to go on the power play. I guess when your san jose you will do what ever is necessary to influence the game wether it is legitimate or not. its sad to see san jose HAVE to resort to those kinds of tactics to win games. I will absolutley flip out if ryan clowe is somehow punished for his cheating........the definition of cheating is for a player to influence the games outcome. thats exactly what he did. RYAN CLOWE is SCUM theres no room for garbage like that in the NHL
