They stole Games 5 and 6, but Game 1 was an even match for the most part. Yes, they were outshot, but that 2001 team was damn good.

That win was the Kings’ 5th straight playoff win, by the way, a franchise record. Too bad it followed an NHL record 14-game playoff losing streak (Games 2-5 of the ’93 Final, consecutive sweeps in ’98 and ’00 by St Louis and Detroit, and the first 2 games of the ’01 playoffs to Detroit) and was itself followed by a 3-game losing streak.
