I am thoroughly impressed with the research that went into this article. However, in light of the fact that the trending seems so arbitrary based on this data, is it possible that something else is being overlooked. Maybe if you included seasons played, age, and contract structure, all of this would make a little more sense.
That being said, I still think Loktionov should be on the Cup and is way more deserving than Drewiske and several non-players who were included ahead of him.

The NHL also seems to have no consistency on who they accept and who they reject. It appears that they just flip a coin on most of them.

I hate this. I hate this so much, and I wish we as fans could let Lombardi et al. know how much we hate it. After all the stories about Lokti eating alone, riding the bus alone, and generally getting the shaft from the Kings, I almost want him to flip the organization the bird and go somewhere where he’ll be appreciated. I can’t believe the Kings would be so stupid with such a young, talented prospect.
