Er, no they didn’t

Terry Murray returning with the Adirondack Phantoms – ESPN (Scott Burnside)

Although the Kings lobbied to have Murray’s name engraved on the Stanley Cup, Murray’s name was left off. GM Dean Lombardi ensured, however, that Murray will receive a Stanley Cup ring, a nod to the work Murray did in helping establish a defensive identity in an emerging young Kings squad that finished second in the league in goals allowed last season.

To put that in perspective, when the Bruins won the cup, they ordered more than 500 rings and gave them to everyone in the organization, including the hotdog vendors. Anyway, Rich Hammond’s list of the 52 names the Kings submitted does not mention Terry Murray.

That’s very kind of you. I expect that gig to go to an actual reporter. It will be interesting to see what happens. Most people on the interwebs are favoring the Mayor, and that seems like a pretty good choice to me.

The only problem with that is he’d have to wear something over his head at all times so as not to reveal his true identity. He’d be the masked blogger. But who would be his Tonto?
