Today, on AM 570 (in Los Angeles), the two sports radio personalities were talking about the NHL lock-out. The conversation went something like this:
First Radio Person: The NHL has canceled more games, so now the earliest hockey season could start is January 15th.
Second Radio Person: Isn’t the season usually over by then?
First Radio Person: I don’t know.
A few weeks ago, also on 570, the so-called “Loose Cannons” were talking hockey briefly. One of the cannons mentioned the potential (now actual) canceling of the Winter Classic. Pat O’Brien wondered aloud if that wasn’t when the NHL season usually starts.
This is the level of awareness we’re dealing with — from sports experts.
