Jackets really really want to prove me wrong

  • More power to ‘em. It would be awesome if they made the playoffs. Even more awesome if they drew the Ducks. 
  • But it’s still a long-shot. They’ve only got four games left. Both Detroit and Dallas have the tie-breaker edge. Dallas has two games in hand. Detroit has one.
  • Much will be decided Thursday, which has the following critical match-ups:
  • With the exception of VAN playing and DET not, it’s everyone from 4th to 11th playing each other, with the playoffs on the line.

    It fascinates me that Dallas is still a solid bet to make the playoffs despite making deadline moves that branded them as a seller, i.e., dealing Morrow and Jagr.

      Reminds me a little of the Kings in 2001. They dealt Blake and loosened up considerably. And most people thought they were toast.

    Yes. Tie-breakers are, (1) ROW, (2) point-differential in games played between or among tied teams, (3) goal-differential.
