LA Kings 2013 Draft Bullets

I don’t have a whole lot to add to what’s already been written about yesterday’s draft, other than:

  • Justin Auger was selected with the 3rd round pick acquired in the Simon Gagne trade.
  • Patrik Bartosak was selected with the 5th round pick acquired in the Davis Drewiske trade.
  • Valentin Zykov was selected with a 2nd round pick acquired from Edmonton, in exchange for the Kings’ second and third round picks, and Carolina’s fourth round pick (acquired in the Kevin Westgarth trade).
  • The Kings drafted both the CHL Rookie of the Year (Zykov) and Goaltender of the Year (Bartosak).
  • Other players Lombardi has “traded-up” to select: Alec Martinez, Colten Teubert, Andrew Campbell, Jean-Francois Berube, Derek Forbort, Tyler Toffoli, Maxim Kitsyn, Nick Shore.
  • All 59 of Dean Lombardi’s trades as Kings GM can be found, updated, here.
  • Updated, sortable Reserve List.
  • Updated, sortable Kings Draft History.
  • Updated Kings Depth Chart.

So, in essence, the Kings got Zykov in exchange for their 2nd and 3rd and half of Kevin Westgarth. There’s something about that that makes it sound more awesome.

I just watched his draft-day interviews. Not as amusing as Kitsyn, but entertaining in his own way.
