How is Dwight King going to avoid waivers?

Mayor’s Manor reports that Dwight King has “signed a minor league contract” and is going to play in Manchester. I assume more details are forthcoming. All of the Kings’ waiver-exempt players (Andrei Loktionov, Jordan Nolan, Slava Voynov) were loaned to Manchester before the September 15 lock-out date, per a special agreement between the NHL and…

Found: my first comments

I’ve been strolling down memory lane, in the form of the archives of Rich Hammond’s first Kings blog, Inside the Kings. I believe I found my first three comments on the blog, which are interesting (if only to me) because of how naively optimistic I was about the 2007-08 season, and because of how different…

LAT (Helene Elliott) – Watching Kings’ Run Has Been Great for Gretzky […] “It’s been unreal what they’ve done and what they’ve accomplished so far,” Wayne Gretzky said Wednesday. “It’s been unreal for the organization and it’s been great for hockey in California and L.A. We live in L.A., so we’re seeing it first-hand how…

Toronto Star: Ranford debriefs Kopitar on the enemy

Ranford and Burke at the Western Conference Finals From time to time, when L.A. Kings sniper Anze Kopitar struggles, he’ll seek an opinion on how to break out of his slump from goalie coach Bill Ranford. […] “That’s something that Darryl (Sutter, the Kings’ head coach) has asked me to do throughout the playoffs,” said…
