You’re all a bunch of Jeremy Roenicks

Well, not all. Just the ones who didn’t play during the lock-out. Played during lock-out: Anze Kopitar, Dustin Brown, Trevor Lewis, Kyle Clifford, Jordan Nolan, Dwight King, Alec Martinez, Slava Voynov, Jake Muzzin, Jonathan Bernier. Didn’t play: Dustin Penner, Justin…

I think Simon Gagne might get dealt soon

And, no, I’m not reporting a rumor. I don’t know any rumors, and I don’t have sources anyway. So why am I saying such things? Here’s my reasoning: Gagne – Richards – Brown sucked Saturday. They were by far the…

2013 Kings’ opening night line-up?

The 2013 season starts in 10-14 days. Camp starts in less than a week, I suppose. Anze Kopitar and Willie Mitchell sound like they’re out with knee injuries for at least a few weeks. Tyler Toffoli has been tearing up…

I Don’t Care How You’re Doing in Europe

I derive great satisfaction from following prospects, especially Kings’ prospects, playing in other leagues. But it turns out I don’t care at all how established NHL players are doing while playing in other leagues. Aside from an over-riding concern that…

Whither Clifford?

Of the six left wings mentioned — Brown, Penner, Gagne, King, Nolan and Clifford — one of them (Gagne) is almost certain to leave after next season (if he can even make it through 2012-13 healthy), and another (Penner) is not any kind of lock to return after next year either. I would say, actually, that since neither Clifford or Nolan ought to be considered top-six forwards (you can make an argument for King, though he fits anywhere), really we’re talking about whether there’s room for all three of Clifford, Nolan and King in the bottom six. We can just remove Brown, Gagne and Penner from the equation.
