My favorite 25 Kings under 25

I was asked to contribute my own list to the Top 25 Under 25 feature now running over at Jewels from the Crown. Every time they post a new name (25, 24, 23…), I have to go check my own list to see what I said about so-and-so. To make that task easier on me…

Who will still be on the Kings in 2013-14?

2013-14, that’s this fall, by the way. The NHL and NHLPA have apparently agreed to allow 2 buy-outs per club for 2013-14. That’s two buy-outs that will not count against the cap. The point is to make it easier for teams to get below the presumed $60 million cap ceiling. I don’t know what other…

Shorter RudyKelly, and looking into AHL streaming

Because there is a lock-out coming and because I don’t have anything better to do, I took RudyKelly’s even-handed and well-reasoned commentary ont he “on-going” CBA negotiations, and ran it through Microsoft Word’s auto-summarize tool. I told Word to reduce it to a ten sentence summary. 2011-2012 Kings Prospects Scoring, Adjusted

Since you already have 59 different places to go for traditional team stats, I decided to do something different. A few years back, behindthenet calculated conversion multipliers to be used to “translate” scoring stats from one league into equivalent NHL numbers. The idea being, for example, that one goal in NCAA is the rough equivalent, in terms of difficulty of 0.41 goals in the NHL. Obviously, there’s lots of room to disagree with the specific numbers, but I’m willing to play along. Here are the numbers behindthenet came up with:

LA Kings Draft History

Every player and pick in LA Kings draft history. Sort by draft position, round, goals, assists. Doughty, Hickey, Schenn, Quick, Brown, Kopitar (more)

LA Kings Reserve List

The LA Kings Reserve List shows every player / prospect. Sort by cap hit, draft, contract status, age. Also: 50 Contract Limit explanation, roster rules.

LA Kings Depth Chart

This LA Kings Depth Chart shows you every player on the reserve list, by position and league: NHL, AHL, ECHL, OHL, WHL, QMJHL, NCAA and Europe.
