Ex-Kings Pt. 2: Around the World

This morning (I think it was this morning), I did a rundown of ex-Kings scattered across the NHL. Here’s the follow-up, comprising ex-Kings everywhere else. Teams and leagues listed are current as of the 2012-13 season. A couple of interesting things I learned putting this list together: (1) Petr Nedved is still playing, in the…

Lombardi takes elevator to the top – ESPN Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Kings had just clinched their first Stanley Cup title in franchise history, and general manager Dean Lombardi, in his sixth season at the helm, was rushing from the press box inside Staples Center to the arena floor, hoping to reach the ice in time for the Cup presentation by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.

Will Stoll be here for three years?

One of the advantages of signing players to cap-friendly contracts is that those contracts are tradeable assets. Would it be mean or disloyal for Lombardi to trade Stoll, say, at the trade deadline, or next summer, or anytime before his contract expires in 2015, considering that Stoll could have gotten more money signing somewhere else next week?

LOMBARDI:…

Purcell is not making Kopitar Suck

If you are reading this you have already read the other Kings blogs and you have seen the irate comments venting all over Ted Purcell. Ted Purcell is lost. Ted Purcell falls down. Ted Purcell is not NHL calibre. Ted Purcell shouldn’t be on the first line. Ted Purcell has naked pictures of Terry Murray.…
